TAKE CARE OF YOU

HOW TO EAT WELL AT WORK

It is not always easy to have a healthy and balanced diet, eating five meals a day. In fact, this objective is quite complicated for people who spend most of the day away from home.

How many times have you said to yourself “I’ll start taking care of myself on Monday” or “I’ll start eating healthy from tomorrow“? Meeting this type of objective means changing your habits so that you encourage yourself to eat healthy food, even at work, with no excuses. But how do we do this? Here are 5 tips to help you:

1.  Get used to bringing your food in a lunch box. The day-to-day lack of time and tiredness often make it difficult to plan a weekly menu and prepare the various meals but this is the only habit that will enable you to have a balanced diet at work. Take time out every night to prepare simple recipes for the following day and use your freezer well by making several dishes in a single cooking session.

2.  Does your stomach rumble at work? Your diet should be rich in proteins and fibre. By taking some nuts like those of Sport Nuts Mixed, you will satisfy your hunger and relieve your anxiety.

3.  Increase your fruit intake. Take two pieces to work and this will maintain your stomach satisfied for a longer time, thus avoiding snacking between meals. Try to vary the fruit so that this does not become tedious.

4. Stay hydrated. How much water do you drink a day? You probably spend most of your workday without drinking anything, so always have a glass or bottle of water nearby to maintain your body hydrated and do not replace this with juices or refreshments since these drinks are high in sugar. Avoid alcohol at lunchtime since this will only dehydrate you even more.

5. Foster healthy food at work. Encourage your colleagues to have healthy habits and suggest that they include healthier food such as fruit or vegetables in the canteen and avoid eating the processed baked goods from the vending machines. If you find allies, the motivation will be reciprocal. You can share ideas or meal times or even alternate the task of cooking at home.

Eating well depends only on you!
